I created an experimental design by blending an ancient map drawn by Kaşgarlı Mahmut, featured in the Divânü Lügati’t-Türk exhibition in Kazakhstan, with a modern map.
n the design, the historical map is placed in the foreground, while the contemporary map is layered in the background. From specific viewing points on the old map, corresponding locations on the modern map align — inviting viewers to trace connections across time.
The final piece showcased in the exhibition was produced using a CNC machine.
